So many times I thought that it would be great to have a cosy place very near home to have coffee and cake in winter or to have an ice cream sitting on the street during summer. Like a month ago my wishes were heard and they open this pretty caffee in the Soldiner Kiez.
We are always very excited about new restaurants in Wedding. As soon as we read in the Weddingweiser about Stranero we run to try their pizza and check out the restaurant. They are situated next to Nauener Platz, in the growing kiez of Malplaquetstr. Their pizza is very good and not expensive at all. For now is all they have, we hope they include some antipasti or salads in the menu to accompany those tasty pizzas. They probably will!
Grüntalerstr is probably my favourite street in Wedding. I love the library Echo Bücher and and the concerts at Studio 8 and recently I discover that Da Giorgo (just besides all this) is also a very decent place to eat. Nice wine, nice antipasti for free with your meal and good pizza.
Normally I´m not a “meet for lunch” person, I prefer to relaxing dinners, drinking some wine, without worrying about wasting the rest of the afternoon. But sometimes it´s nice for a change and I found the perfect quiet café in Eulerstr to do so. It´s a small charming place in a little square between Bornholmerstr and Grünthalerstr.
A couple of weeks ago we finally got to go to the Pierogarnia, in Turiner str. A friend had recommended this cosy restaurant/café where one can taste real home-made Polish pierogi.
I could not imagine anything better to have close to my house than a tapas bar! It opened in December in Prinzenallee but I didn´t discover it until I read this review in the blog Weddingweiser. It is a very nice place to stop by and have some Spanish wine and tasty appetisers. The bartender is very friendly and talkative and does all the cooking and service at the same time. There is wine for less than €2 a glass and small tapas for €1´30 and all of it tastes nice and authentic. We are definitely going back for more soon, also because if you go ten times, you win a bottle of wine 😛
Relais de Savanne on Prinzenallee is not only a restaurant to taste traditional African food but also a meeting point for the African community in Wedding. As such it’s the perfect spot to experience of small bit of African culture, specially African Music. They also cooperate with a money raising program for the funding of a hospital in the city of Dapaong in north Togo. Continue reading
